Its an amazing movie Deepa Mehta is not only very sensitive but potrays the movie beautifully a genius in capturing emotions and reality she is not the ice grill the person who made this comment is the ice grill people who are deep thinkers look like her

I saw this movie and loved it. It was not just a movie about a Punjabi woman, but a battered woman. She could easily be living in any household anywhere else in the world; she was a woman just trying to find happiness. Deepa shows in such exquisite detail the isolation and helplessness this woman feels. This is definitely something that is felt by many battered women. It was a very thoughtful and insightful movie.
