It is a dam shame that the US Gov did this to so many people who grew up there settled and farmed the land. My self and family lost our cabin near Namanock Island . There were quite a few summer cabins in this one spot and i still go back there. Only a handful of homes remain along Old Mine Road. While the peacefulness of the river is preserved, the rush to demolish will always be a painful memory.

I used to go swimming here when I was a little kid...it was beautiful then, and now.

Wow. My boyfriend & I are going to go visit 2 weeks from now.
