After the stabilization of the Church, the journey continues through the period of the Nicene Creed, Patristic Scriptures, Divine Liturgy and Icons. During this same period, however, the official division of East and West is witnessed and concludes with a gradual rift in matters of faith, dogma, church customs, politics and culture.

  • I really loath the fact that the Councel of Nicea pitched some of the books that were composed by the early Christians. I NEVER agree w/throwing out books, because they assist in telling/relaying communal stories which took place at a certain time and place. Those individual 'histories' will never return, yet the history is preserved. That's why I don't understand WHY on earth destroy these books OR not add them to a seperate book/anthology. I've studies the history behind this, too. - J
