  • That's a tough one to answer. I'm using a 1000w Novatron box with 4 heads and it has always been enough for my needs. If you are trying to light up a big ballroom or church, more power might come in handy. For regular studio stuff, it doesn't take a ton.

I would suggest that you find a local supplier and buy from them - rather than look for the best price online. It might cost you a little more, but its worth it to have someone guide you through the process. Good luck!

  • Hi, i was wondering, is a softbox and a omni bounce kind of like the same thing? Meaning, is the outcome the same using either products?

  • @PrettyTattiiex3 Well I guess they are both "light modifiers" - so in that sense they are similar. The idea is taking the light and trying to affect the quality of it (hard light vs soft light).

  • Nice tutorial. Would have been nice to show some sample shots of the outcome.

  • @trinhk Thanks for the comment- yeah I probably should have added some images. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll try to work that in next time.

  • Your videos Rock.

Could you give a tutorial on the smaller size needed to light a full body?

Also the silver or white interior when the soft box is bigger does one gives better light?

    Thank You

  • @ErwinListSanchez Mine has a silver interior. A white interior probably gives a slightly softer quality of light, but also a slightly lower level of output. Not a huge difference either way.

  • How much watts do you need ? I have seen a kit that has two softboxes that are 1000w each and they called the lights quartz I think. Are those any good or powerfull enough and what color light is the quartz ?
