Im currently running the FX 4100 with the motherboard in this video, for anyone wondering the BIOS does support it.

tnx for the replay and the video ,just .. thanks for all the info you give me:)

@Thnqu Oh sweet. Then you are ready to build my friend. I would say go for the fx6100. It does not look like AMD will continue to produce high end chips for a while because I think they will continue to make more cpu/gpu combos like the A series cpu's. Go for the highest you an afford and stick with it for a good long time.

INFO M5A78L-M/USB->
AMD AM3+ FX™/Phenom™ II/Athlon™ II/Sempron™ 100 Series Processors
Supports CPU up to 125 W
AMD Cool 'n' Quiet™ Technology
32nm AM3+ CPU is supported by BIOS version 0401 and later
but the fx6100 ->
FX 6100 3.3/3.9 GHz socket AM3+ 95W 32nm SOI
need only 95 so .. yea .. it can handle it

@Thnqu Hmmm. that is a tough call. If the 6100 was $140 then I would say yeah. Can the M5A78L-M/USB3 support 125 watt cpu?
-
@Battoot97 I don't know of a way to tell if it ships with a BIOS to support for the fx series. Most likely the plus edition will. You can call but I doubt that sales or customer service will be able to tell you. They will probably tell you that you can always just return it.

If I buy this Motherboard from Newegg? Will it come with the BIOS to support the AMD FX 4100 cpu. If you dont know is it possible to contact newegg and ask them what version of the BIOS is currently being shipped?
BTW i really liked the video:D

The fx4100 its =99$ and the fx6100 is 160$...meh..
Thank you!! Fantastic video and goes over everything well! Maybe you should have been more elaborate on front panel cables --> I know this is so tricky and I spent an eternity just on these :(
Again, great video, and thanks!

@nabgene Thanks for the encouragement and the support! I totally agree about the front panel. It was difficult to shoot with the camera I had and getting the right angle. I will be making more videos with better cameras and greater detail. This build and recording was done in parallel. I now know that I need to record the difficult parts first so I can just record plugging in cables while the mobo it out for better angles and explanation. Thanks for watching!
