@TintinS3D Now maybe the people relate more to their Malagasy (Asian) side than their African side. I don't pretend to understand their culture. I was just saying that the people that I have seen in other videos looked black or mixed.

@TintinS3D Yeah, but this very video said that the dna test that were done on the people of Madagascar show that they are a mix of Asian and African. I am not sure which group of people settled in Madagascar first, the Asians or the Africans. Maybe the Asians settled there first and then the Africans came later. I don't know. But it is obvious from looking at some of the people that the current population is very mixed. Not all of them are mixed, but many of them are.

@aldomovielovers yes borneo people went ther at early age, so now its mix, thats why they look like ther from asia

madagaskar ancestor are from indonesia, even their language has many similarity with indonesian
Actually, some of the people look Asian, some look black and others look like a mixture of the two. The population is very diversified. I have seen other videos and the people clearly look as if they have African ancestors not just Asian. They are mixed. It is very interesting.

@goodtimeschild55 Good observation... There is a lot of African mix in Madagascar, but the 'pure' Malagasy race is of Asian descent. At least this is how they look at it over here. :)

@TintinS3D Maybe the "pure" Malagasy are the original inhabitants of the island and then some Africans settled there later. I don't know their history. But I am just disagreeing with you when you said that the inhabitants come from Asia and not Africa. Actually, their descendants come from both Africa and Asia. And that is regardless of which group settled their first.

@goodtimeschild55 I think part of it is another case of Africans being taken as slaves and then eventually integrating into the culture. I haven't done any extensive research on the subject though. Someone else videoed this and put it together for us to use as we visited churches raising funds our last furlough. It is possible that there are different views on some of these things and that even though they are different they are both partially correct. Thanks for your interest.

@TintinS3D Yeah, I think there was some slaves brought to the island but according to some research that I did reading the wikipedia, many of the early Africans (East Africans that were of Bantu origin) settled there centuries before there was slavery. Also, wikipedia states that the majority of the people are of African origin (even though most are mixed). The African influence comes from both East African settlers that migrated there 1000 years ago and recent slave immigrants.

@goodtimeschild55 Like I said, there are several views and possibilities and most likely all are partially correct. I wouldn't trust everything you read on wikipedia since individuals just like us can put information on there that may not have much factual accuracy.
