@losganjaless the corvettes a completely different class of a car, the mustang and camaro are made to compete against eachother, and sure the ford gt uses a supercharger, but also you have to think about the fact that the z06 has an ls7 7.0 liter motor, the gt only has a 5.4. and this is coming from someone who drives a honda, so im not trying to start shit, just tossing in my .2

@01ttstang lol ya i realized how stupid it sounded after i posted it im dyslexic : / so some times it docent make a hole lot of sens when i tipe haha but ya i wanted to delete it the second i posted it but i just said fuck it because im used to being called stuiped plus i just realized this was a year ago haha but im sorry if i hert any ones feeling.

@mrbcargirl yes the GTO did come out before the pony and it can be called the first, you are right about that. But just because its the first does not mean that its what sparked the Muscle car era, the Mustang is responsible for doing that. That was the point i was trying to make. Now in my opinion, the point of a muscle car is supposed to be a small, lightweight car with lots of power, not a overweight slug with a overweight engine. The 289 Mustang was perfect because accomplished just that.

@RustyShacklefeird Actually I'm not a "fan girl", &I don't base my knowledge on fashion trends. I base my knowledge on facts. Cars aren't fashion, clothes are. The definition of a Muscle Car is a big, powerful V8 engine in a no frills TWO DOOR car. GM was the first to do that with the '64 GTO. Sales numbers DO NOT make a muscle car. HORSEPOWER+RWD does. ALL GTO's had big V8s (up to 348 hp in '64) while many Mustangs had puny 101hp V6's and a 200hp 289 V8. V6 = not a muscle car. Know your facts.

@mrbcargirl no offense but im guessing your a Chevy fan girl or not very smart when it comes to the market and fashion trends. It doesn't matter that the GTO (for which Half of the models were 4 door sedans) came out a few months before the mustang because the Mustang sold thousands of more units then the GTO did, And the Mustang destroyed the market and set a fashion trend that people loved and wanted more of. The Mustang was the original. Im sorry but thats the truth.

@RustyShacklefeird LOL, except that the GTO was actually a 1964 model and the earliest production Mustang was a 1964 and a HALF.......... so CamaroZ28Red is right. GTO started the Muscle Car era. Might help if you knew the facts. : )
