Yes, I made this video before, but I thought I would rather do this again and correct a few things and take the old ones down.

This is the most secure method to connecting to Nintendo Wi-fi Connection so you can play select games online. To perform this, make sure that you are near a wireless router or access point. You can stay connected and can reconnect anytime without repeating this procedure as long as you are connecting to this one point and that your settings are saved, but on the go, you need to repeat the procedure for each different place.

This video is best for access points with a red security lock. If you have a grey security lock near the access point, configure your router settings to disable the grey lock or change it to WEP. Enter your wireless router's gateway IP (either found on the bottom of some routers or in the Settings of a computer connected to this point) in order to change security settings and to find your WEP key.

The same procedure applies to Nintendo DS Lite. The Nintendo DSi may have a procedure similar to the Wii, but if you're going through the game to get to the WFC settings, then there should be no problem.

  • hey im trying to get on wifi in a coffee shop that has a password but i dont know how to type in the password. it is intended for an internet browser where the password box just pops up and you type it in, but its not working. I tried typing it in wep but it didnt work. what am i doing wrong?

  • @flamingchucknorris I would ask the owner of the coffee shop or whoever most knows about the internet there if the access point actually is protected. It's most likely some sort of proxy you're on, and the only way to bypass a proxy is on an internet browser on the computer. From there, I don't think you can play online any DS system, even if you try the Internet Browser on the DSi/3DS.

  • Do i really have to buy a new DSi because with my DS i can't connect on the internet cause of the WPA security?

  • @gonlafaut Just change the security on your router to WEP so that your DS can accept it; you don't have to buy a DSi.

  • my one asks for a wpa is that the same thing?

  • @s2rikus2 WPA also uses a password, but it's a different format than WEP. You can still find the WPA in your router's security settings.

  • "2)Enter the username and password for your router. This should also be supplied in the router's manual

You should now be able to see your wireless router settings. You can configure your network ports, as well as SSID (wireless network name) and passwords."

  • @8000Rock "1)Open your computer's web browser. In the URL address field, enter the IP address for your wireless router. This information should be contained in your router's manual. If you cannot find it, enter "198.168.1.1" as the address. This is usually the default IP address for most routers.

  • @Md1986ok How do I log on to my router's settings though??
