Taped in Sydney in 1990. I had no idea what this was at the time. Well I have come to the conclusion since I posted this vid, that this is a Numbers Station. Thanks for all the help guys! I never though that I would find out what the hell it is. Thanks Again.

  • That is fascinating. What was the frequency, do you recall? I wonder if that might be a phone patch with an illness? Or someone messing with it? It almost sounds like its an AM broadcast do to the beat frequencies I am hearing in it. Tis very different than anything I have ever heard. Interesting.

  • @N0rthwestRadio

Not sure exactly the frequency, but it was sort wave 2 around the around 2 to 3 mega cycles. As it was in1990 I'm not too sure. Another thing I can say to add some more information, is that it was going for about ten minutes before I started to tape it, and the 90 minute tape ran out. It kept going for another two hours before I got sick of it. I have much more on the tape. I edited the best bits out. It would be too long otherwise and boring. It still gives me the shivers.

  • I don't think it's a numbers station for spooks, just someone being spooky for a hoax

  • @vinylloung sending coded messages to spies via shortwave radio

  • @shortwavesam Part of is burst traffic. It was first done by the russians in ww2.They recorded speach on a recorder and let it run fast during transmission. On the receiving side it was recorded again and played at slow speed. Its said that Germans did not have recorders running fast enough for some time, but the real value is the very short transmission difficult to intercept in the first place. They´ll also use ultrasonic carrier frequencies to shift the messages into a non audible frequency.

  • 999. Flip that over and it's 666... D:

  • i like it

    my brother dont

  • you got more

  • mechanical voices numbers?

  • that is called a numbers station, giving aust secret messages to spies, but the beeping is odd

  • is this a record of wierd stuff from the 90's or what?

  • this is a number station, some government gives out numbers to their spies via shortwave, and the spies use a single use deciphering pad to work out what their broadcasting. No need to be scared!
