our horns sound like trains. they move traffic faster than anything else i've ever seen. Of course, we don't have crappy ford van ambulances - we have Internationals

@Stupidispatcher That's a suggestion not a rule.Anyone standing in the bay door area after the ambulance is dispatched for a run,wants their hearing damaged or just doesn't have common sense.

@WRXSubaru08 that's really crazy: I saw many vids from the US where they leave the station with the Q running hot, pulling the airhorn and noone stops. That's the reason why most of our FD have traffic lights in front of the station, so when they leave for a call, they switch them red and get out of the station very fast - without switching on any siren or horn

@KkF00 Noone ever stops, even with airhorn, sirens, lights, and a rumbler people still have excuses of not seeing or hearing us on the road.

Rule #1 when departing station on a run - don't hit the sirens until the speakers have cleared the bay doors. Your hearing will thank you when you're much older. :)

Why dont they use stop lights near teh station to warn the upcoming vehicles and give them stop signs? so yeasier to leave when its code 3 :)
