I think England should have always been ruled by Scotland and not the way it is now. ...Scots... as people have more culture values and are perfectly capable making their own decisions.

@PlayG0z - its more popular than you might think, sure it might still be a minority belief but on average it is expected to grow at a rate of around 10% per year over the rest of this decade. This would mean a 58% aprrovla rating by the planned 2014 referendum

As time goes on, the benefits of the union seem to be non-existent, could be because there wasn't t9 begin with, it was just an illusion.

Who cares about oil, money or annoying the English?
Independence for the sake of independence, There are no 'unionists' in Denmark demanding that the Germans invade again because 'we're stronger together', the Irish aren't begging to be readmitted to the empire because times are hard. When the UK breaks up the English will hopefully want (and get) a less centralised and more democratic English state.

@mooninquirer There would be no war between Scotland and England over North Sea OIL. Yes! The UN would recognize Scotland. Scotland would be in the EU under an SNP government. Yes! Scotland wouldn't be in any more American wars (Iraq and Afghanistan etc..). Scotland would be a country (Ireland and Finland etc..). No! Scotland would have ALLIANCES with most European countries, and including England, because we're on the same island.
