This is a poem I wrote in 1968 in the middle of the Vietnam war. I have never forgot this poem, it is my favorite.

  • Gary, could you add the lyrics to your description? I couldn't make out some of the words. The song sounds wonderful by the way.

Thank you for your service to our country by the way... good, bad... certainly ugly... you were called and you went. I tried... they wouldn't take me because I was arrested as a juvenile for stupid things. Certain elements of my own country didn't think I was good enough. They were wrong. Now I think certain elements aren't good enough.

    You

Swirling in a purple mist, and thriving off you faith

I touch upon your endless love and find I cant erase

Memories of departed or loved ones before my time

But my heart is quickened lightly when I find that you are mine

You give yourself so willingly yet I see the pride that’s in your eyes

And your longing for my whispered touch, well I hope that never dies

And I pray that all the joy , we see or ever will

Finds a place within your heart, when all my breath grows still

  • @gleeblock I posted the text Rollad, glad you liked it and yes who knows how the gov thinks, but evidently its all gone to pot, sex, and money lately.
