The WI GOP held a special committee meeting on 10.17.11 to discuss a Koch Brothers funded right-wing think tank's attack on the UW-Madison, claiming that their admission policies discriminate against white people. Mark Pocan saw through the sham & took this racist jerk from Virginia to task. The very next day to punish the UW for daring to fight back against ALEC Walker ordered a surprise addition $65.7 million in cuts on top of the $250 million he already cut. The UW-Madison is a HUGE driver of the Wisconsin economy, these cuts make no sense unless the ultimate goal is to starve the UW to the point where they will be forced to privatize.

Mark Pocan did a good job. The information was incomplete. Mark knows how ALEC operates and how secretive and sinister its GOP/corporatist agenda is. This ALEC representative couldn't really give him a real idea of the academic performance (statistics, facts) of our university system. Not very credible. Good job, Mark. Someone has to call out Fitz and friends.
