TWM Metrobus 2949

The last of the ex dp metros still in service, and after seeing a web forum post stating it was due to be withdrawn at the beginning of November, I went on its trail on Friday 7th hoping I wasn't too late.

Fortunately after parking up in Walsall at 7.30 am more or less the first bus I saw was 2949 on the trusty 366 arriving from Sutton! So I headed over to the Bus Station and had a run out. Not a great one unfortunately (no 4th gear!) but I'd got some footage at least. I went about the rest of the day and got back into Walsall at about 18.45 only to see it blinded up for the 18.50 back to Sutton so decided to go for another trip out to Alrdridge

So glad I did! A nicer, quicker run, and even got into 4th for a short stretch too which really made my day. This footage is from that 2nd run

Don't know if the old girl will still be around next time I'm down, but at least I got a few runs to remember this great bus by. Farewell 2949, you'll be sorely missed

Great video nice to hear the sound of the 4th gear clunk & the 4th gear whine. She starting to sound worn out now tho especially in 3rd gear. But nice to hear her sing tho & still going strong after 22 years in service as now the only in service DP Timesaver metrobus
