@AlRichards314 I wish they would of start teaching it in elementary.. i think at that age people like me would have grasped it a little better.

@mileycyrus55767 I can't say I disagree with you. You are correct - there are lots of occupations that don't require any algebra. However, even reasoning/logic skills that you pick up (even indirectly) in math classes are quite useful in many occupations. I still believe that algebra should exist at the high school level, you wouldn't want to not do any math for several years of high school and then jump back into it at university or college.

@AlRichards314 You might be right. But algebra is just important for people who need to use it on their jobs. What if I want to be a singer, and obviously, algebra is not necessary for that? ..That would be like I wasted half of my life studying something im not even going to use right now. I dont think im going to go to buy 5x shirts times 7x+3 jeans ._. ....Algebra should only be teached at College, for the ones who need it.

I HATE ALGEBRA!!!!
All the restrictions represent are any values that would make the expression undefined. For example, you cannot divide by 0 (since it's undefined) so any number that gives a zero value in the denominator is a restriction. For example in the d) question the (x + 4) factor divided out. Now if x = -4 then x + 4 has a value of 0 since -4 + 4 = 0. So if x = -4 then the expression has a value of 0 on the top and bottom, which make it undefined. So the restriction is x cannot = -4.
