I understand and agree, I wasn't trying to say Dee Dee was replaceable but just going by what I'm sure that Johnny had said. Believe me, I would've rather much wished Dee Dee stayed with them till they retired but I didn't CJ was bad at all, not Dee Dee, but not bad for the group.
Dee Dee's contributions were huge and he wrote many of the lyrics, so I wouldn't say he was replaceable. CJ did was he could in Dee Dee's stead but he definitely wasn't a "replacement" for Dee Dee.
I enjoyed CJ too. I think even Johnny said that they were looking for a younger version of Dee Dee when looking for a replacement and they had to see something in CJ for them to hire him. I thought he was great. They lost a great songwriter in Dee Dee but CJ filled his role pretty well I think. The only spots that were irreplaceable was Joey and Johnny's.
The Ramones good or bad were brothers & C.J. Ramone was the baby brother of the Ramones, He brought a much needed youthful energy to the live performance, the Ramones rocked big time with C.J., long live the music of all The Ramones
@kliff215 Listen to Mondo Bizzaro it's by far one of there greatest albums and C.J fucking kicks ass on it, Dee Dee is necassary to The Ramones and he still was through songwriting and C.J did an awesome job playing bass for the remaning years.
