Cool Metal Guitar Riffs #7 - Papyrus- by Armand

This is one of my favorite Nile songs; it is from the CD titled "Ithyphallic." If you aren't familiar with Nile, they are a band centered around Egyptian history and mythology, and they also have one of the very fastest metal drummers in existence. I chose this riff since it gives a very good example of odd timings and phrasings as well as odd time signatures that swap in and out. Best of luck!

Does a lot of the song sit in a specific scale? It always sounded like it was very rooted in harmonic minor to me.

Also, indeed some sick playing. Nile is far from the easiest stuff to play to say the least :p
