This film is based on true events that took place during the genocidal violence that erupted in Rwanda between the Hutu and Tutsi groups in 1994, when the Hutu military and Interahamwe militias killed roughly 800,000 Tutsis over approximately 100 days. In the face of these unspeakable actions, inspired by his love for his family, an ordinary man summons extraordinary courage to save the lives of over a thousand helpless refugees, by granting them shelter in the hotel he manages.

I hope, anyone who thinks war is never justified, too remember Rwanda. Its horrible that, the worst thing about war is that it is sometimes necessary. UN intervention could have easily prevented these deaths.

It pisses me off that the media focuses on bullshit about celebrities and meaningless t.v shows instead of things like these. Millions of men, women and children being slaughtered and all I hear about on the news is "who wore this" or "who gossiped about who". What the fuck is wrong with this world.
