I am an Atheist and my younger sister is diabetic and when I hear a story like this its so hard to not get frustrated because of how moronic these parents were. When we first started noticing that something was going really wrong with my sister we immediately took her to a hospital and she's been doing fine with managing her diabetes for years. There is no reason for that girl to have died and anytime someone wants to tell me about the magical healing power of prayer I just show them this.

@cailssso aint that the truth. society rewards ppl for being religious and punishes atheists. ppl think that religion is so wonderful. well i dont think that there was one atheist on any of the planes on 9/11. 99% of all politicians are religious yet you see how self serving n crooked they are. thats jus how society is and you aint gona change it so jus accept it and live in fear of those religious freaks controlling your life...im scared

@cailssso Ain't that the f-ing truth...

Why were the churches not in the dock too?
It's the stupid teachings that twist the mind of gullible fools like the Neumanns.

Talk about "The God Delusion!" Sheesh!

those fuckers deserve to die. I have type one diabetes and it went undiagnosed for so long that i almost died and well given what i went through you can understand why i feel the way i do

sick...absolutely sick... you can now kill your kids if you invoke 'god' it seems... by this logic dahmer should have got only 6 months... and he could serve that at snippets of 30 days a year perhaps... its sick....totally sick!
Who was in that judges ear?
@womanlybassplayer Good post I found on a forum:
"If the Neumanns were atheists and ardent social and biological Darwinists, who believed their daughter was defective, and thought the "laws of nature" would decide whether she’d live or die, would we still be debating this issue? I think not - they'd be in jail this moment facing charges of child abuse and negligent homicide - and rightly so. But, substitute "God" and "prayer" and suddenly they deserve special consideration."

Wisconsin gets pretty cold in the winter. Perhaps these two could be sentenced to 2 days / nights on the frozen Lake Superior in February with no food, shelter, or even clothes. I am sure their prayers will keep them warm.
