You've definitely piqued my curiosity. I’ve been leery of reading Varney, because it sounded very long and ponderous. I also don’t have the same love for Victorian literature that you have. I love old gothic vampire tales though, and the inconsistencies sound hilarious. I think I may have to check this out.
