MINUTES.......... VIDEO EXPLANATION

0:00 to 0:16................iPod 5.5 generation 30 GB.
0:17 to 0:24................Move the hold siwch to hold position until see the orange-red color on it
0:25 to 0:36................iPod in front with the plastic tool start open from the left part or botton part where usb sync connect to iPod (becarefull that part is less strong but more flex)
0:37 to 1:35................ Turn in the Clockwise direction the plastic tools
1:36 to 1:57................Open Carefully you'll see the connection from the battery to the mother board, wich you must disconnect by pulling up
2:34 to 2:41................For your convenience if you wish (not necessary) you can disconnect jack/hold conecction also.
2:50 to 3:06...............note that the connection from the mother board to the hold botton is below the battery so be carefull
3:15 to 3:17...............Note the battery position
3:24 to 3:33...............Place the new battery
3:45 to 4:30..............Reconnect everything
4:32 to 4:45..............Visual inspection
4:50 to 5:14..............close uniform, ensuring that everything is together again
5:15...................Change hold botton position to on, charge the new battery for at less 3 hrs. and.... enjoy............

  • It was very useful.. Considering I have the exact same Ipod same Gen.

    The orange thick wire thing was unattached and I didn't know where it had to be.

    As you opened the Ipod I knew where!

  • so after 5 FRIGGING MONTHS of constantly having my ipod hooked up to a power source for it to come on...all i simply had to do was put that plastic thing in the slot for the battery to power on my ipod...FAIL..but thanks a lot man! laziness on my part btw :(

  • thanks! worked out great! i did break one of the snaps on the top when taking the faceplate off, but i now can charge my ipod!!!
