If you talk to the Chef in the Cathedral after finishing the primary objective and finding the secondary objective, JC Denton will demonstrate why he must have gotten an A in diplomacy.

I got the Earth in the fire by changing the settings for plant2 (I think) to have the mesh and multiskins for an earth as well as changing the drawscale to something like .25.
