This is our first session with shaping box tricks. Yes, I know my clicking is off because I'm trying to transition from "yes" as my marker so it's much more natural for me to use my voice than the clicker. We still got to what my goal for the session was, which was paw targeting the box.
While I'm a huge clicker advocate, I am very new to it mainly because yes worked for us in the past. However, with Arya I seem to have muddled the cue and she's responding well the clicker (and you can see I still talk to her a lot because she enjoys it). I realized after formatting this that I need an HD cable since my flip is HD, so hopefully we'll get that taken care of and future videos will be much better quality!
Arya is a mutt from the Tacoma Humane Society, adopted at 1 year of age with severe fear issues, including fear peeing at the smallest hint of frustration on the human's part. She has largely overcome these fears due to positive training and counter conditioning. In this video she is 6 years and change. She earned her Rally Novice (RN) title in Jan 2011 under the AKC Partner's Program and we hope to finish RA, CD and perhaps a few legs in agility and her HCT by the end of the year.
