Thought I'd make another video for you guys. So this is an excerpt from a favourite book of mine (hope it spurs you to buy it - it's brilliant).
The reading starts off bad but it gets better, so sit back and enjoy.
Leave a comment if you want a bit of backstory, or better, buy the book.

  • I'm quite astonished that not only the books of Moers have been translated but are also known widely enough for someone to actually read it for Youtube and gain over 10,000 views...

  • @ylfluoS They certainly deserve it.

  • i luv the imagery, symbolism, and allusion. Is this of a series or a stand-alone story?

  • @MysticMoonGoddess67 Both. There are three books set in Zamonia, but they follow different main characters and, oddly, are in reverse cronological order. There are a few threads throughout all books but each story stand alone due to the fact they follow different characters. This is the second. I highly recommend them. x3

  • 13th lives of captain bluebera is a epic bokk im reading it again for the 8th time, i have lots of time to waste ^_^ i think the order goes;

    bluebear

    rumo

    city of dreaming books

a wild ride through the nite

and umm thats all i can think of at the mo :p

    anyway nice video

  • A Wild Ride through the Night is not set in Zamonia so it doesn't really belong with that series.

I think they're the only novels published in England. But Adolf might've been published now.

  • This is my favorite book

  • I am reading it in german and i love it ;D

  • hat mcih auch gewundert:D

  • there is a nother book from walter moers set in zamonia: "Ensel and krete"

which is kind of an "zamonian version" of the german fairy tale of "hensel and gretel"

but I don`t think it was translated...

I´ve read all hi books (except a wild ride through the night) in german and in english, sadly there lots of jokes in the books which only work in german so some small parts are missing in the english versions, but the books are still translated very well, an books themselves- are aweome

  • @WarDogWharry your video sucks. Besides, you can't translate Walter Moers accurately into english. It's just like reading Terry Prattchetin german, still funny, but lacking the brilliance of the original.

  • Also ich finde dirk bach macht seine arbeit außerordentlich gut. Sowohl bei den zamonien romanen als auch bei den scheibenwellt geschichten. Beides geniale autoren. Aber auch bei tp. Da sollte mans in englisch lesn. Dann merkt man das es noch besser ist.

  • This book is epic, one of if not my favourite book.
