Niccolò Piccinni (1728-1800)
'Catone in Utica' (1770)
Dramma per musica in 3 acts
Libretto: Pietro Metastasio
Emilia's aria (Act II)
Per te spero, e per te solo
mi lusingo, mi consolo:
la tua fé, l'amore io vedo.
(Ma non credo a un traditor).

I've no idea whether the aria is cut or not
(no B section and da capo as you may have noticed)
but I still posted it because:
a) It's rather good and unusual
b) Some bits in it are lifted directly out of his
'Basta vincesti' written some months earlier,.
Just compare with this.

By the way, this time I posted two arias in a row.
Usually I don't do this so be sure to check out the previous post too.

Neither is it mine. I imagine I may sound quite weird at times because I've aqcuired it from movies, computer games and internet forums.
