@skotosome no disrespect taken...I've never loved at all :)

@zarathustra2k1 No one should be that dependant upon another human being so much so that it causes both mental and physical turmoil. I really don't have time for that and nor should you!
-
@VforVaun ...then I pity you. It's probably the one thing that's worth the gut-wrenching *physical* pain of it's loss. Why do you think all these songs exist..?

The only person that does this song correctly is Terry Reid.

Nunca tinha escutado essa versão! Simplesmente perfeita!

great version! for me though bette midler's 1979 version from the rose is the most heart wrenching desperately emotional.

@VforVaun if you have never loved like these, then you have never loved at all.... :-) (i dont mean it in any disrespectful way) just to say that who ever has loved in such a deeple way knows that we should never be too proud to beg...

WOW AMAZING VOICE.............

This is a great rendition of this song. This is something I'd expect to hear on the radio; it's that good. But, in my opinion it is very over-produced. Listen to Lorraine's version and you can feel her soul tearing in half. I don't feel anything when I listen to this version, but I do seem to be bobbing my head to it :)

@jfaristide Well Ive listened again to Lorraine's version and one might say: its more dramatic, but I certainly dont think Kiki's version is over-produced, its rocky by the way the guitar is coming in and you cant deny imo that Kiki isnt crying her heart out. However sometimes it matters which performance you hear first, and mine was Kiki's....but of course Lorraine's version is great as well!!!!
Have a nice day.

i just listened to versions from Lorraine Ellison, Bette Midler, Duffey, Janis Joplin, David Coverdale and even Steve Marriott!!! They all had a go at this classic song as did many others - but nobody did it better than Kiki Dee. It still has me in tears!...she has such a great voice, Its a shame that wretched song with Elton John is all that she's remembered for by most folks. I do hope that she and Carmelo are still gigging. I must go and see them...long overdue...Chris
