  • Sounds beautiful ! They should burn all those terrible "harmoniums" and use this instrument and sarangi all the time ...

  • This is simply divine. My guru taught me a simple gat in Bhupali on sitar and for some reason the major pentatonic mode of the raga just lifts my mood. This video sums up musically what I love about this raga. Thanks for sharing.

  • How much does one of those cost?

  • It sounds like a dream even with not so great of audio quality. I just purchased one today and am looking forward to creating beautiful music with it!

  • what a true master, the phrasing, the agogic, the purity of the sound - makes me dream of a more peaceful world- "takes me - away".....

  • the first notes went straight to my chest region

  • relaxed the hell outta me....wow

  • Having said that locking onto instruments, articles and ragas in the name of Religion is just myth making and clamouring for Identity.

  • First time I come to know about this instrument.Beautiful instrument and rendering. But it being special instrument i guess it can only be used or heard for some special moods(for eg: pitiful kindness as opposed loving kindness) unlike Sitar or Veena.

  • what a beautiful sound and melody...that's great!

  • @cenolbaj harmoniums are used because sarangi, sitar, diluba and esraj take to long to tune during live performances, I like them better than harmoniums but they take to long to tune

  • People have forgotten all about the Esraj, many dont even know such an instrument exists and what melody it can produce , it is very unfortunate that Esraj never got the respect as some of the other Indian instruments like Sarod , Sitar or Saarangi did.
