@hellasow That was my point. The Democrats are science friendly and have always been. As far as the spending, I don't see how that can be considered "not a good thing" when you consider the amount of money that we usually waste fighting unnecessary wars or trying to maintain an empire. Spending goes up when Republicans are in control as well, just not on the things that matter the most.

@mike7743 The President, according to the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921, must submit a budget to Congress each year. I think you have an over inflated role of the house of reps. You did not mention the senate, the stronger wing of the congress IMO. I could be wrong, i am not an expert on these matters but would love a source the house weilds all this power. In general most spending goes up when democrats control the congress (not always a good thing)

Cool montage. Thanks!

@FreethinkerChronicle The best system on the planet is failing. Ignoring that fact won't make it go away.
Acknowledging it might, though.

Good video but the sound level bounced up and down so much I had to keep adjusting my speakers.

@FreethinkerChronicle what makes it "the best system in the world"?
Interesting about funding for science being higher under the Republicans. It makes me think of the defunding of the Super Collider in TX back in the early '90's. It was the Clinton administration and a democratic congress that killed it. The U.S should have led on this, but instead it will be Europe that makes all the amazing discoveries about the universe. However, I still can't vote for Republians due to their support for fundamentalist Chrisitan causes.

A failure of our democratic system is highlighted in your comment. We have to keep remembering, it's the best system on the planet.

We need to at least start to talk about a new party system and a better governmental system in general. Let's face it, we have been running this system going on 3 centuries with nothing more than reactionary patchworks as needed. Your story is just another example of how are system fails and why so many millions do not vote. Thanks for the comment.
