My attempt at making a "cool" video for Man Utd in their treble winning season, 1999.
The video was supposed to be based around some brooding, moody portrait shots of each player, shot on grainy black and white film. Sadly, the labs in London put it through a colour bath, and screwed it up. So the task of making a cool video became a bit harder, given the wooden nature of footballers.
They were all a bit tired, it was the morning after Turin, and most looked like they hadn't slept much. Keano had been booked, meaning he'd miss the final...and was hacked off. He was excused video duty.
Most of the rest were co-operative enough. Nicky Butt thought he was the funniest man alive, but Sherringham seemed to be competing with him for that honour. The nice guys were, predictably, Denis, Jesper and Ole. They ALL behaved when Gary Neville told them to. He is most definitely leader of the pack.
The song was an attempt at something a but Indie/Oasis. It was written and produced by Jive Bunny, who surprisingly enough was a pretty sound lad.
Seasick photography by Nathan Sheppard...a top cameraman, and lunatic, who only just made it to the shoot, having been put in the clink the day before.
For Gobtv regular subscribers, this video is a bit of a shock. Even more to those that know me as a life long Boro fan. What was I thinking?????
