@anarchie76 “…undergoing a great deal of stress, including pursuit by a stalker.”
So? People undergo stress all the time without having fatal strokes. He likely had ischemic heart disease---diet related. That’s the 3rd leading cause of death for the intuits.

@gyrate4 That was the proximate cause of Stephen Byrnes's death at 42, but his AIDS was undoubtedly a highly significant confounding factor. I'd give you a link but they're not allowed here.
Stephen had also been undergoing a great deal of stress, including pursuit by a stalker.
You cannot use his case to counter the huge body of research from nearly 200 years, however disagreeable that may be to your personal views.

@anarchie76 Stephen Byrnes cause of death was stroke.

@gyrate4, I'm afraid there's evidence to contradict your n=1 comment. WAPF has a lot of people with science degrees as well as English and history (not that knowing something about one field prevents you from learning stuff in another…).
I'm on my own variant of Atkins/low carb, and I'm never constipated. Nor am I ill often — and when I do get a cold (inevitable because of my teaching activities) it lasts for 1 or 2 days instead of a week.
As for Stephen Byrnes, he died of AIDS…

@pbziegler I agree. I've been plant based for 11 years, and I never even get a cold. And unlike folks on Atkins, I'm never, ever constipated. WAPF gets people with english and history degrees to promote them, because they can't get real doctors---maybe Mercola, but some doctors even promoted smoking.

Weston A Price nonsense. Stephen Brynes, WAPFs other purchased nobody, practiced what he preached, and sadly, died of a fatal stroke at 40 years old. Another WAPF nut told me, "...but Stephen was stressed, it wasn’t his diet."

Yet another mouthpiece for special interests...or at least part of their strategy.

Good stuff. I feel SO much better now that I'm eating fats from pasture raised animals. My low fat vegetarian diet nearly killed me. My body is finally healing. Thanks for this! I put it on my blog today(TheSkinnyOnline) so my readers can learn!

Keeping eating lots of food with high cholesterol. Its your right as a free American. As for me I will go with Campbell and the guys with the background. I have a degree in history like you Chris and I wouldn't pretend to be an expert on how people should eat for heath. Wishing you a long life.

Actually, that makes a *lot* of sense. When people make war analogies without much elaboration immediately following, I raise my mental defenses. I might have to pay a little more attention to him now.
