Criswell was pastor of FBC Dallas for over 50 years...on this occasion he was preaching at FBC Jacksonville, Florida. The bald guy in the background was Dr. Jerry Vines, who was its pastor at the time. Vines now occasionally fills in for Dr. Charles Stanley at FBC Atlanta.

@howdyMS Spoken like a true Southern Baptist. You must deflect off the point by finger pointing. That's my point exactly. You must deflect at any and all cost.

@gotch09 SAD, SAD, such a mis-guided, blinded comment by one who obviously is so aware of his own sins and failures he thinks by pointing out the sins of others he hides his own.
-
And all God's people said...

@ricardo522042 If it makes you happy.
-
Right. And you believe that Gays are really in denial, right?
-
@ricardo522042 No. You're Einstein, you educate the rest of us peons.
-
Yep, and then you marry one. Any drift to that?
-
@ricardo522042 oh well.Life's a bitch isn't it??

Sounds like you need to get off the cross because we need the wood.

Southern Baptist down South were as a whole a bunch of racist bigots, that stirred up more hatred and dissension you could imagilne. Alot of the klan were in the So. Baptist churches. Let me tell you another dirty little secret about them-the Catholic church does not have the child molestation problems corned. So. Baptist like to sweep theirs under the rug, and have gotten away with it for decades. Baptists don't like to admit and own up to their own little sins. No sirree,Bob!!!

@gotch09 Yes, Baptists like Catholics and me and you are sinners and that is why we all need a Savior, Jesus Christ, who can forgive us of our sins and make us right with God. Have no room to defend Bapitsts or anybody else, just want to proclaim Jesus who is our only Hope.

W.A. Criswell was my pastor for over 30 yrs. I truly loved this man and his preaching. Just about one of the last "Old Time Religion" preachers. I miss him so!
Thanks for posting his last sermon.

I am a bivocational pastor and this was the first time that I had heard W. A. Criswell speak either live or on tape. I had only been pastoring for 2 years at this time. I have shared that when he came up to the pulpit, he appeared so weak, I thought, "I hope he makes it through the sermon" and when he finished I thought, "I wish I could preach like that."
