African-American Family recounts tale of survival in Taj Hotel, Bombay, India

They want to tell their story for a reason.. "Just like we dont want the world to judge us based on the fringes...those that exist on the fringes of our society, we dont want people to think badly for a just a few people that wreak havoc like this, they cant win from that stance".

No one more than african-americans know what prejudice, discrimination and dehumanization is like, as they have experienced in north america for the last 400 years, which is why i found her words very poignent.

Don't go there they don't like black people...you remind them of what they don't want to compared to. Th world sees then as black & they hate that. They will stare at you like you are on fire, it is the most unconfortable place for AA to visit stat away. Also remember this when they befriend you in the states. The first people they befriend in the states are Blacks b,cus deep down inside they know they are BLACK. but they hate you ...

@MrRick5690 im the son of indian immigrants myself and im sorry to say that you are right. it has alot to do with colonialism, hindu racism and such. its downright stupid. a young guy who grew up here was talking about black folks, and i said to him 'this is america we have to deal with everyone'. for the record the 2nd generation or children of immigrants do not hold such racist attitudes though, and many in fact are into hip hop.
