Why not part exchange your sheepskin coat? Many others have. Fed up with that pocket? Then trade it in for a sleeve, or perhaps a collar. Discounts if you enjoy a beard.

The West Country seems to have had more than its share of local adverts for local businesses. Here's a glorious compilation from the 1980s.

  • A lovely selection of cardboard - I remember the Oramec advert was only shown at Sunday lunchtimes (near the farming programmes) along with other cures for various unpleasant zoonotic ailments. You didn't dare to have your Sunday lunch in front of the telly back then. J.H.Haskins had the same ad with a different v/o on HTV West. And I'm delighted Launa Windows featured - for some reason they were always advertising during children's programmes!

  • Wow that Francis Drake dry cleaning ad was impressive for a local advert.

  • Marvellous compilation.

Heard David Fitzgerald, Stuart Hutchinson, Judi Spiers, Jennifer Gavin, Ian Stirling and Roger Shaw among the slide ads.
