Deus Ex: "The conspiracy" Helios ending

Ripped from the game itself, by Mr Cyberpunk of the OTP forums.

This is from the PS2 version of Deus ex which had cinematic endings and intros instead of in-engine like the PC version.

  • Helios is the only ending that provides a chance of breaking through the cycles that civilization goes through. Whether or not it works out the way JC hopes is the fun of it, and something that could have actually been explored in the sequel.

  • This is what the Hyron project strived for. Human & AI combined. This is the perfected version.

  • and that is how the first 0bamabot named 0bama was created

it's purpose... to spread communism across the US...

and to have gay sex with arab children. *lulz*

  • @jcdenton2k An AI created by humans will have flaws. The solution to this would to give the AI the task of creating a better AI. This recursive process would continue to further eliminate error until the final AI approaches perfection. When the final AI is finished, it would then be tasked to rule humans, maintaining a specified balance of happiness, free will, truth, and safety. This balance must be specified by humans and this will determine whenever it succeeds or not.

  • @zuljalalkhan I saw it! OMG it's evil...

  • @sosiopat An emotionless leader that could not possibly make mistakes is perfect. There is no better solution, and it would also mean that no one country ruled, as a computer has no nation attached to it. It could be built by the finest Engineers, Mechanics and Technicians all working together. All of the horror stories of Computers rebelling could only happen if the computer was programmed to rebel, which would obviously not happen. Personally, I would feel much more secure.

  • Pause at 0:48 and look at JC's hair ... oh ... crap!

  • And that is how the first Borg was created.

    Resistance is Futile...

  • @Devilsnevercry61:

PC original is highly recommended for many reasons. The PS2 version has some very detrimental compromises made in order to get it to work within the limitations of the console. Had it been developed natively for PS2 without the Unreal Engine v1, then we'd probably have a much better console game.

You can grab the PS2 version dirt-cheap now, probably under $5 online. Same with the PC version.

Recommended to get the original GOTY PC version not Steam version

  • Example: Death camps created to contain world population. You and your loved ones are to be executed. Are you still happy?

  • @MasterLPG:

Nope, not really. Any AI will inherently possess SOME flaws or bugs in programming because it was created by HUMAN programmers. We would need to get fully sentient AI that learns everything on their own (like a child would) from the day of their creation. But again, AI that doesn't learn the values of compassion, empathy, or any type of human emotion would be worse than a cold and ruthless dictator.

  • @Devilsnevercry61 idk, I live in Germany and here it's usually on the shelves of the electronics & game shops (seen it in multiple places).
