Richard Shindell at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival, England 2010. Here he sings the Steve Knightley (Show of Hands) version of his own song You Stay Here. Marc Shulman on electric guitar.
Personally, I like Richard's version better, but it's just like him to perform James Knightly's moving version & say it's better. The man has so much grace & compassion. Thanks for the post.
Just gorgeous - what a mesmerising re-presentation of a deeply moving song. A fantastic outcome from a chance meeting in a car park late at night at the best Folk Festival in the UK - a priceless moment, well captured... Hope it makes it through to some sort of official release
This is the first song I ever heard Richard sing, when he toured with James Keelaghan many moons ago. I nearly got whiplash. I HAD to have this song, it made me weep, it made me feel the anguish of parents trying to protect their children from the horrors of urban warfare, the loss of hope and faith. Still one of my very favorites...
Has anybody got steve knightleys version of this song, it's on the Show of hands, covers 2 album, but i can't find a video, love this song.
