  • i really don't get why people take the rifle off their shoulders when their working the bolt.

  • @Primitiveamoeba I did not intentionally take the rifle off of my shoulder. I try not to. It just worked out that way. Wasn't contiously thinking about it. 2007 amp Perry was my first real competition and this was my first Springfield match. Please don't be too critical.

  • @jason60chev what i mean to say is that everyone does it and its just a little inconvienient

  • @Primitiveamoeba Yes...I've noticed that, too. The action on this particualr rifle was very smooth. I do try not to take the rifle off my shoulder, though. Even so.....I could have taken more time as I had 10-15 seconds left at the end, even with the reload problem. Thank for contributing.

  • What sling are you using with the 1903?

  • @nf9648 The sling is a reproduction of the 1914 Kerr sling. It's a very good sling. I bought from What Price Glory. They make reo uniforms/equipment, etc. Gogle the name. The sling was $30. originals can run as much as $150. I have a Kerr on all of my 1903 Springfieds.

  • @adamslurch71 READ the earlier posts for anexplanation of this. To you on the street, "Rapid Fire" probably means "Spray & Pray" without regard to taking aim or even ying to ht your target. This string was fired in COMPETITION...with RULES......see NRA High Power Ruls o CMP Rles. This is what is known in competitive High Power as "Timed Fire".....or just "RAPID". Time is different depending on the rifles used. In this 1903 Springfield match, 80 seconds are allowed to fire 10 rounds in prone.

  • Ok so where the rapid fire at?
