im a little outdated what is the difference between the i7 and a quad core duo or core duo extreme last time i checked those were like the best processors but technology goes so fast that i dont even know whats good now.... lol

Yeah the technology goes fast right now.
Sometime I even did't noticed some new things that release.
the different is i7 got 7 thread and compare to core 2 duo with 2 thread and core 2 quad with 4 thread.
It is all about the performance and multitasking that change todays new processor.
The most fastest processor is Core I7 980 with 6 core.
