The reason why Women of color don't know how to apply many other eye shadows because your ass don't know how to do makeup.. This is just a tutorial of an example..

I wish that the make-up wasnt so heavy, because the model is of color it would have been best to use brighter colors to bring out her features. It would have been better to use warm, summer colors...(Just a thought)

What's up with the constant neutrals? How about some blues, greens, even an pink? Anyway, I like the fact you do the tutorials on dark skin.

It looks nice, but, she just as easily could have worn other colors too! Dark make up isn't the only option for "dark skin."

Hi Soctress...I just wanted to clarify that I never said this is the ONLY look for dark skin...dark women can wear many other colors, this video shows just one example...

okay, thea, so i'm not a big makeup person, the most i do is lip gloss/lipstick and eye shadow. this is mainly b/c i can't find stuff to match my dark skin tone, that isnt mega expensive, or jives w/ my charlotte from SATC style. ur vids kinda puts me back in the hope-zone. so, b4 i buy anything, i know i need to have the right supplies. for brushes, i know there are makeup artist quality and dime store quality, as novice, will walmart or walgreens do????

Hi! Good brushes are important but it doesn't mean that you have to only buy prestige brands. A good way to test is by feeling the bristles and making sure that they're not too soft. Some cheap brushes aren't banded tight
enough for a good application. Remember, the softer the bristles, the more translucent the application, so if you have a "medium" bristled brush, you'll get more versatility for both opaque and translucent applications... powder & blush brushes should be big and fluffy!
