Band: Alice In Chains
Album: Facelift
Song: It Ain't Like That
Lyrics:
yeahhhhhhh
There I was, laid out on a table
Screamin' sweat and bare feet to the floor
In my life, I'd not soften
Things that cut, and burn so often
But I sit, think of somethin'
Scared to face, the dyin' nothin'
See the cycle I've waited for
It ain't like that anymore
Where I go is when I feel I'm able
How I fight is why I'm feelin' sore
In my Mind, not forgotten
Feel as though, a tooth were rotten
Behind the smile, a tongue that's slippin'
Buzzards cry, when flesh is rippin'
See the cycle I've waited for
It ain't like that anymore
Here I sit writing on the paper
Trying to think of words you can't ignore
In my eyes, what I'm lacking
Score at face, a ten for slacking
Sign the deal, set in motion
Smaller fish, so huge the ocean
See the cycle I've waited for
It ain't like that anymore

Do not add Heroin. It's a bootleg, and is not considered to be part of Alice in Chains' discography.
The band was started under the name Alice 'N Chains in 1986. After Layne Staley met Jerry Cantrell in 1987, the band became Alice in Chains.
Contrary to popular belief, Alice in Chains aren't just grunge. Among all the bands involved with the whole American grunge take over, Alice in Chains have always been the most metallic.
Alice in Chains were on an "indefinite hiatus" from 1996 to 2006. However, the group did not officially break up until Layne Staley passed away due to an overdose of heroin and cocaine in 2002.
Their 1994 EP "Jar of Flies" was the first EP to ever reach #1 on the Billboard 200 United States album chart, despite no tour to support it. This was the only EP thus far to ever gain this distinction, until the 2004 release of Jay-Z & Linkin Park's "Collision Course".
Former bassist Mike Starr was 1 of 9 patients featured in the third season of the VH1 reality television show "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew" and the second season of "Sober House With Dr. Drew" in 2010.
