It was the gold age of the orchestra under Mravinskiy conducting-he was Chief-conductor(in the best meaning of the word-Chief).Temirkanov is a talent man,but too much drinking and hate his musicians(he came from south of Soviet Union).Mravinskiy was a high-professional musician and high-educated person

What an amazing performance!!This part is too awesome, the best symphony of Tchaikovsky,by far, the brass sounds too powerful,a enormous energy.

I'm not sure what you mean; do you mean to say that this orchestra plays better under Temirkanov or Mravinsky?

This is my favorite symphony.

Just goes to show how a rather wooden, stolid conducted gets rapture and passion from an orchestra, but without histrionics or goose-steps. Bravi
