@YuUlLiIaA I agree with you, but because a horse as been therefore human use for thousands and thousands of years, always helping out. To repay them we kill them?

I met this horse that was going to be taken away to the Slaughter house. She was skin and bone. but she could have been a gorgeous little Black filly. She was in pain you could see. Al she wanted to to was lie down and lay her head on your lap and want attention. When you pat her you could feel the bones and all the rough hair from not being groomed in over 4 years. She was sitting in a muddy paddock all this time. It's so sad to see something so beautiful go to waste

The best way to stop horse slaugher will be to get people to stop onsidering horses to be food. In America, most people don't and won't eat horse meat. In much of the rest of the world, horse meat is regulary eaten and sometimes considered a delicacy. So that's half the answer. The other half is to stop overbreeding them. Neither solution will be quick or easy to achieve.

Please stop this unneeded abuse everywhere!

@Fallingninja What it would do to business should be of no concern. Horse is more than a means of turning a profit and that in particular is the root of the problem. He's seen as a slave who's only value is monetary...Mankind needs to evolve into a being who sees beyond the quest for money. It has crippled his thinking. Time to expand into another way of relating to these critters.

america needs to realize what europe has come to terms with...horse slaughter is going to happen-even if they are being hauled to canada or mexico-it's still happening even if US slaughterhouses are closed. make the process as short and comfortable as possible. I give serious props to there being hoses and waterbuckets in the trailer. I have yet in my days to see a killer buyer in the us have this kind of rig. Double deckers-overcrowded. this is the part that makes slaughter cruel-the journey.

I do agree with ending any animal abuse and suffering caused by neglect;however,I do not agree with putting bans, laws, etc. in effect in regards to breeding. I do believe that this could cause very negative long-term effects int he equine community.Breeding lines and breeds could die out. Independent tack and supply shops could go out of business.Prices would be high. Schools that offer Equine courses may have to cut them back. The cost of a horse alone could skyrocket for a cross, one of few.

Why just horses? good work but only horse horse horse what about the other animals?...

or we could just not slaughter them at all? dont we kill and eat enough animals just to leave the horse to itself
we need something like this in america.

Or...people could stop breeding horses just because they want to have a cute little foal, and instead spend their money either adopting a horse who they will have to put just as much time and money into to retrain as they would training a foal, or just buying a horse in general.
