Mike - love your stuff - I've watched 'em all. Hey - how 'bout some details on bringing a vintage 1980's steel road bike into the 21st Century. (Trek, Raleigh, Univega, Motobecane and on and on). Like you did to your Univega - It looked amazing! How do you handle getting a new BB & crank. Are the standards the same now? Can you upgrade the gearing to a cassette and indexed system. Stuff like that!
thanks so much - You da MAN!

I'm so glad I watched this. My only experience with road bikes is a Raleigh Rush Hour, which I ride single speed and absolutely love. Lately, I've been thinking it could be fun to purchase a carbon fiber frame on Ebay and make it into a single speed. You have experience with both the Ebay carbon fiber frames, and with conversions. Any advice? You mentioned conversions are problematic, do you think I'd have so much problems that it wouldn't really be worth trying?

@ozunajd the spacing on the rear of those carbon frames is wider then track wheels you could order one but you'd have to run a road rear wheel and a single speed conversion kit, it wouldn't be a fixed gear but it be a super light single speed

I saw that you had a Pro-lite Trentino for a hot second, could you tell me what you thought about that bike? I found one complete for $450 is that good? Do you think that it will retain its value in the future. I've never had a track bike before how do they handle around town? Sorry for all the questions. Mike's Bikes rocks! Much Respect!
