50 years ago? 50 years ago was baddd, it was plantation for people and genocide for revolutionaries. French colony had a small population of government control minority 5-10% (those were the people who helped america setup the saigon regime). Those people lived like gods watching their own people dig for roots to eat.

American war mostly concerned South-Vietnam territory. Northern region and Hanoi remained independant despite suffering heavy bombings on several occasions.

Nicely done but how does one jump from Independence from the French in 1954 to the present without including the American aggression and subsequent defeat? What happened to 50 years of your history?
