  • Well done, can't wait to upgrade my WD4 to brushless! Did you reach 2000 feet with the stock Tx? I didn't know the range was that good

  • I wouldn't go that high with the stock radio. The AA batteries lose power quickly therefore reducing your range.

    I use a Hitec Optic 6 with a high capacity battery. I get about 5 hours of flying time with one charge.

  • You may be OK with first couple of flights. One trick is to setup the plane with a slight left rudder and down elevator. That way if you get out of range it will tend to circle back down.

    I rememeber that I could get around 3 - 4 flights out of one charge (the last 2 flights at lower altitudes).

    My rule of thumb is that the higher you go the more reliable equipment you should have.
