"Home" original song by Kari Fleskes (1st draft)

Okay, it's raining outside and I'm house-sitting...so that means I'm bored. lol Thought I'd finish writing this song and record a first draft. I'll be recording it again on my new setup so you can hear better. And don't worry, I'll practice first ;-P


I'm tired of these tracks,
chasing the same damn train.
There's dirt on my body
that I can't wash away.

That's how it's been for a while,
but I'm the one who's always wrong;
So I set out on a lonely mile,
hoping to lose my way home.

and chasing bad mistakes;
Because pretending we're worth it
is like trying to catch the rain.

Heaven knows we're broken;
There's nothing wrong with letting go.
So I'll bottle my pride and try
to lose my way home.

I used to crawl through the hours
but that left grass stains on my knees

left a dirt I can't clean.

Time won't change the story
so I'll set out alone;
Nothing left but leaving
and losing my way home.

I forgot my way home.

I lost my way home...
