A family friend Vic Crapnell raced a Downton Mini Cooper S 1293 at Castle Combe, mid to late 60s, I remember seeing Brian Cutting racing a 1900 Martin enginined Anglia, he was always below the lap record in practice, Jonathan Buncombe and Richard Longman were always quick in Minis at the time,and local car dealer Ron Fry would race a mini, then a Ferrari 250LM in the sports car race, he later changed to Ford GT40s...Vince Woodman raced too in a Lotus Cortina. Did you race at Combe at all?

@2000gpg Further to my earlier reply, I never did race at Combe. This was due to the Championships I was in were at most of the other circuits; Brands/Mallory/Snetterton/Oulton/Silverstone, and so on, and so on. I raced against Richard regularly, and also Jonathan on a weekly basis, both very quick minis. Ron, I recall, but not as a fellow club racer.Brian, yes in my earlier years, when I raced the big engined Anglias. Cheers! Gerry.

@gerryracer Hi Gerry, thanks for a lovely nostalgic trip back to my youth, we had a great chat at Mallory yesterday and I hope that we will become friends.
