8 stalks receive the value of 2
5 stalks receive the value of 3
4 stalks receive the value of 3
Add the values derived from the 6 separate manipulations

  • @9letters2woorden I Ching (or Yi Jing) is an 'oracle' technique. What isn't included here is the method for converting the numerical results into trigrams and hexagrams (line drawings- it's a bit hard to explain). Once you have the hexagram constructed, you can consult the "Book of Changes", which assigns certain meanings to certain hexagrams.

    Sorry if that's too confusing...

  • Whats the goal in doing this?

  • There is other method to get the value of 6, 7, 8, or 9 for each line. By the end of each 3 round process of counting, these values refer to the number of the sets of 4 stalks remaining on the table. So, at each end there shall be 24, 28, 32, or 36 stalks on the table; corresponding to these 6-7-8-9 numbers.

  • ur a complete idiot who does not know ANYTHING about the proper use of yarrow stalks. u stupid white man.

  • Great explication, thanks !

  • @drkphinx Nvmd, i know what happened. I'm missing 2 yarrow sticks. :-)

  • I'm learning this i ching method, but I can't figure out what is the value if I get 3, 6, or 7 stalks. I hope you can help me. thank you. :-)

  • A faster, better method to use the I Ching. Try "The Pocket Oracle"
