Why not have 2 feeders. One with and one without the Twirler? This will feed both squirrels and birds, and habituate the squirrels to never use the feeder with the dome above it. :-) Unfortunately, after, maybe 1000 years, all squirrels will evolve to never use feeders with domes, and 'Squirell Twirler' will go out of business. :-(
