Nick's POV
We stood back on the stage practising a few more songs before the doors finally opened to let in the always screaming fans. We were half way through 'love bug' when there was a crash from behind us, and then a thud into the wall. I stopped playing guitar and turned to look at the wall -- I don't know why, everyone does it's just, an impulse thing.
'Sorryy!' We heard from the side, and appeared Ben, waving and smiling awkwardly.
'I think we're done anyway,' Kevin said turning his microphone off. I put the guitar back in place and started towards the edge, and then quickly turned on my heels to face Joe.
'I need to talk to you,' I said walking towards him.
'Don't have the time,' he said pushing past.
'Yes you do,' I said grabbing his arm and pulling him round. 'You said you and Becca would be fine -- it's not looking that way now.' I was ready to gloat and tell him how stupid he was for letting her go so easily.
'Just shut up Nick, you don't know half of it,' he said pulling his arm away and storming off. He past Becca without even looking at her, I moved forwards and then saw her turn to face me, whisper something to Ben and start skipping towards me. She jumped as she got closer so I lifted her up, she let a little giggle.
'Put me down!'
'You jumped!' I laughed, placing her back on the floor.
'So?' She smiled, 'what were you and Joe talking about?'
'Nothing, why?'
'No reason, there's just some girl here to see him..' she trailed off.
'Oh, I didn't know that -- who is she?'
'No idea, she just said she was a friend of Joe's.'
'Joe as in, just Joe. Or the band?' she stood thinking for a second.
'Just Joe..' she said her eyes widening as she started to turn on her heels. I moved forwards to get hold of her, but I wasn't quick enough, she was running, running away and in the direction Joe had disappeared into. I moved after her, but I was too slow, I turned up into the middle of an argument, Joe and the girl vs Becca.
I moved forwards and stood behind Becca, I didn't care what they were saying -- I just wanted it to stop -- and now.
'Guys!' I tried saying, 'GUYS LISTEN!' I yelled over them. 'Better,' I sighed. 'Joe, er -- girl..'
'Sherry,' she smiled, a smile forming on my lips -- Sherry what a name, I wanted to laugh.
'Joe, Sherry just go -- now,' I looked at them and nodded they moved quickly, I could see the anger in Becca's eyes welling up to form tears, I wrapped my arms around her waist and rested my chin on her shoulder. 'It's easy to find someone else, especially when you're you,' I whispered into her ear, trying to be somewhat supportive.
The old feelings I had for her started welling up inside of me until I could feel them stronger than ever, I couldn't admit this -- I was falling for Becca, all over again, I snapped back to reality and pulled my arms away from her.
'Sorry, I just -' I started backing away from her, she'd turned around to face me and was staring straight at me. 'Yeah, sorry,' I said before turning around and rushing off.
Nick get your head together -- Becca's Becca, and that's all. I smacked my forehead -- I was so stupid.
