Seems to be a one of a kind Koi. She has large raised scales in a flower pattern in only a few places on her body. Extra long fins.Just over one year old. 12-14" indoor 70 gal tank. I know- she's a but over weight. (I was told she's full of eggs- need to breed her now)

  • I asked a pro about this- They said it's not possible to cross goldfish with Koi.

For the record- I donated all my Koi fish to a pond, and this one was promptly stolen less than a week later.

  • all my fish are now in ponds.

  • FOR SALE !.... 3 koi. - Including the one above and her/his two friends.I'm moving and cannot take her with me. She comes with her tank mates- another butterfly koi and a regular koi. Buyer is responsible for arranging shipping or come pick them up.

    Make offer-

  • actually, not rare, and very cheap in some countries!

  • @HungQDang Stand behind your words- prove she isn't rare by showing me a picture of another fish that looks like her. I know I've searched for another for almost 3 years and found nothing even close. I'm sure there was other siblings. I bought 2 of them but one didn't survive. When young- she looked TOTALLY different! She was solid color bronze and missing only a few scales here and there. She had no line down her body and her scales weren't in fan shapes on her tummy. Cheap? Yes! $12.00

  • a cross breed koi and goldfish wouldn't have a leather body , the bobel things by its eyes or the whiskers on the chin. This is a butterfly koi. Butterfly koi are not rare- Ones that come out looking like mine are. Whats rare about it is how long the fins are and the combo of armor scales and white and yellow markings. That's what I was told anyway. It's far from worthless- I've been offered 7k for it but its not for sale.

Lets see your 50 butterfly koi-

  • this maybe a hybrid fantail goldfish and koi Hmmmm?

  • cool check out mine comment rate and sub ill do the same

  • I'm new to koi, and have one that developed scales like this. I thought it was some type of bacterial infection, but the fish behaves totally normally. Is it normal for koi sometimes to have scales like this? I haven't looked REALLY hard yet, but so far i haven't seen any pics of koi with these types of scales. Thanks.

  • name ur price

  • @makenatile I'm not living in the area that koi are usually seen at LFS right now! I used to live in Vietnam, in there I see lots of koi like that go for $1 a piece about 5 inches!

  • pretty
